The faithful gather....

The call went out  for the faithful to gather once more for the annual President vs Captain match. And from the mist a magnificent 29 appeared at Copthorne Golf Club to take up the challenge.

The prelude to the great event was a stableford competition for the Robinson Bowl along with the Woodgate Cup scratch event. Darren Cooper set the scene for many by ballooning his tee shot from the first down the 18th fairway. Others were not so fortunate in by passing the trees that were such a feature of this superb course.

For Mike Arney, the trees remained distant when he managed top his first tee shot which then spun backwards about a foot or so. Come on Mike, the course is not long but there's no need to make it longer!

Luckily for Richard Jones his scuba kit, now essential golf gear for him after Captain's Day, was not required. Also lucky for Len Kirton who turned just in time for him to duck under a wayward shot from Phil Ryan on her approach to the 18th.
